A Christening is a form of baptism which is an ordinance that welcomes a newborn into the Christian community and formally bestows a Christian name on the child. It devotes the child through the parents. Through a Christening, a strong support network is created that is intended to provide security throughout the newborn's life. Although some denominations don't practice baby baptism and others have different ways of Christening, this step is the beginning of a young Christian's life, and is worth celebrating.
